The Croissant Diet – Get Out Of Torpor and Burn Fat!
- The Croissant Diet is based on the traditional French diet of butter and flour that kept people LEAN!
- The modern American diet is based on starch and vegetable oil
- Vegetable Oil AKA Polyunsaturated fat (PUFA) AKA Linoleic Acid induces a hibernation-like metabolic state called Torpor
- Torpor is characterized by low body temperature, low metabolic rate and lots of stored body fat
- Torpor is caused by eating too much PUFA (just like bears eating acorns in the fall to fatten up for winter) and results in an increase of an enzyme called SCD1, which unsaturates your body fat!
- A mechanism of torpor is running your fat metabolism with PPAR gamma – leading to fat storage, rather than through PPAR alpha – leading to fat burning.
- Sterculia oil blocks SCD1, thus limiting PPAR gamma activity.
- Berberine, used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine, Increases PPAR alpha activity.
- Previous Generations with high metabolic rates and high body temperatures had very saturated body fat!
- Burning lots of saturated fat in your mitochondria causes thermogenesis (making heat), keeping your body temperature and metabolic rate high.
- A saturated fat found in beef, dairy products and chocolate called stearic acid creates mitochondrial fusion and increases the rate that your mitochondria burn fat.

How To Escape Torpor
Materials
- 1-2 Squeeze Bulbs Sterculia Oil (600-1200 mg; 1/8-1/4 tsp)
- 1500 mg Berberine (or follow bottle instructions)
- 1 Copy Do and Don't eat lists.
- 3 tbsp Stearic Acid
- 3 Oz Stearic Acid Enhanced Butteroil
Instructions
- Chose foods to eat off the eat list and avoid ones on the don't eat list!
- Every day consume 600-1200mg of sterculia oil. This is one to two full squeezes of the rubber dropper.
- Every day take 1500 mg of berberine.
- Every day consume 25 g of stearic acid. This is a single recipe of the Stearic acid banana milkshake.
Stearic Acid Banana Milkshake
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Whole Milk
- 3 Tbsp Powdered Stearic Acid
- 1 Whole Banana (Or 5 Oz frozen berries)
- 2 tbsp Heavy Cream (Optional)
Instructions
- Heat 1/2c of the milk and the heavy cream until very hot but NOT boiling.
- Stir in the stearic acid until it melts.
- Add to whirring blender while still very hot.
- Quickly add the fruit with the blender still running.
- Add the rest of the milk.
- Add ice just until cold.
Fat Burning Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Commercial Pancake mix with no added vegetable oil such as Aunt Jemima "Original". It can be a gluten free mix if desired.
- 1 large Egg
- 2 tbsp Whole Milk
- 1.5 Oz Stearic Acid Enhanced Butteroil – loosely packed 1/4 cup
- 1 tbsp stearic acid
Instructions
- Mix together the pancake mix, egg and milk.
- Melt the stearic acid enhanced butteroil and stearic acid together on medium or medium low.
- Make two or three small pancakes spread reasonably thin in the hot butteroil. It will seem like there is no way the pancakes can absorb all of that.
- Cook them low and slow until the top of the pancakes are full of bubbles and they are firm to flip.
- Flip them and continue low and slow. They will come out better if you don't brown them too much. The amount of fat makes them crispy rather than pancakey if they are cooked too hot. Wow, look, they absorbed all of the fat!

Get Tested!
The OmegaQuant Complete test will allow you to see where your body fat composition stacks up next to those of previous generations who were lean. Compare your test results to these!
To calculate your Desaturase Index (DI), divide the amount of Oleic (18:1n9) by the amount of Stearic (18:0). A good score is one below 1.2.
Also check whether your levels of Nervonic and Lignoceric acid are elevated compared to the levels of non-diabetics vs. diabetics.
Brad used sterculia oil to lower his DI, his nervonic acid AND his lignoceric acid.
Firebrand Meats Low-PUFA Pork CSA
Bacon without the corn oil! Almost all american pork – conventional, organic, pastured or otherwise, is high in polyunsaturated fats. Firebrand Meats is the first American meat company specializing in making low-PUFA pork. It is a subscription based service that is shipping to all 48 continental states. It’s based on a CSA (community supported agriculture) model, which means we need a bunch of folks to sign up to get production started.
